🎯 Welcome to BigButtonPlay Setup
We'll help you get your YouTube API Key in just 4 simple steps. This setup is done once and takes about 5 minutes.
Important: You'll need a Gmail account for this setup. If you don't have one, create one here first.
🏗️ Step 1: Create Google Cloud Project
First, we need to create a project in Google Cloud Console. Don't worry - it's free!
  1. Click the button below to open Google Cloud Console, then in the Google page that opens:
  2. Click "CREATE PROJECT"
  3. Name your project: "BigButtonPlay-YourName" (or just click CREATE to use default)
  4. Click "CREATE"
  5. Wait for the project to be created (usually takes 5-15 seconds), then come back here and click "Next Step"

🔌 Step 2: Enable YouTube API
Now we need to enable the YouTube Data API for your project.
  1. Click the button below to open YouTube API page, then in the page that opens:
  2. Make sure your project (e.g., BigButtonPlay-YourName) is selected at the top
  3. Click the big blue "ENABLE" button
  4. Wait for the API to be enabled (i.e., the page will be fully loaded), then come back here and click "Next Step"

🔑 Step 3: Create Your API Key
Finally, let's create your personal API Key that BigButtonPlay will use.
  1. Click the button below to open Credentials page, then in the page that opens:
  2. Click "+ CREATE CREDENTIALS" and select "API key"
  3. Copy the API key that appears
  4. Click on the API key name, then click "RESTRICT KEY" and select "YouTube Data API v3", finaly click "SAVE" and come back here
  5. Paste your API key in the box below and test it

Congratulations! Your BigButtonPlay is now configured and ready to use.
Your API key has been saved securely in your browser. You can now enjoy simplified YouTube browsing!
